I'd like to give a wee mention to the multi-talented Ms Rebecca Torres, friend and local designer...
We all love a bit of Spandex, none more so than Rebecca Torres, 23 year-old fashion designer from Glasgow toon. Her amazing Lycra creations are simple yet stunning with her beautiful use of colour, and COMFORT, within her dresses, which to me is a definite plus point . She was the only Glaswegian girl to be nominated in this years Creative 30 for her work, and deservedly so. You can purchase her creations online, check out her website for more info:

Nuff O the Dubstep already...
Is it just me or is it so played ouuuut...? Dubstep's been doing the rounds for what 2/3 years now? Yet peeps are still jumping on the trendy bandwagon. Yeah it might be the freshest new "clubbing" sound or whatever, but have you actually LISTENED to the music? Or are your New Era's and Beanie hats covering your ears too much? Ignoring all the hype, all the nights around east that promise some proper raw and "real" urban fun, it all sounds the same to me. Repetitive, repetitive, repetitive. I can't stand for longer than about an hour in FWD, or whatever new night the 333 decides to jump on to make the club more popular than it is, before i wanna rip out my eardrums and plop them into a nice big bucket of Aloe Vera. The one and only Dubstep set I have truely enjoyed was at Carnival last summer at the Fat Badger watching Caspa. His skills on the decks had me mesmerized, and he did throw in the odd non-dubstep surprise to my liking, but even then i had to leave early for a cup of tea and a piece of chicken. Boring. What amazing new sound is gonna grip Shoreditch next? Jungle-rage? Jesus no. Help ma boab!
However, one musical talent i DO applaud these days (amongst others of course) is Mr Kid Cudi. Not only is he very pleasing to the eye, he done good in choosing his collaborators... The Pursuit of Happiness is possibly a tune of the year for me and that is largely thanks to none other than Ratatat, whom i thought had died a slow L.E.S death a few years back. I used to love these dudes. Let me remind you of probably the first time you heard Ratatat, and loved them!
